STUDENT RUN CABLE TV NEWS SHOW ORGANIZERS TO MEET MONDAY

Students interested in being part of an exciting new student run cable TV news show that will focus on Greenburgh are invited to attend a meeting this coming Monday, March 13th at 3:45 PMat GreenburghTown Hall, 177 Hillside Ave, Greenburgh, NY. Alana Mildner, a senior at ArdsleyHigh Schooland an intern in Supervisor Paul Feiner’s office, will be organizing the new program – which will air its first segment in April. We’re looking for student reporters, writers, producers and hope to enlist younger students so that the program will become a permanent show on cable TV. Those interested in participating in the show can e mail pfeiner@greenburghny.com or can call the Supervisor’s office: 993-1545 for further information. Feiner said that once the show is off and running he will exercise no control over content. It’s important that the news show be produced by students. The show will air on Greenburgh public access TV.  It’s my hope that students who participate in the Greenburgh news program will learn about journalism and government.

Feiner said that he is very pleased that Alana Mildner has agreed to organize the program. She will be attending CornellUniversitynext fall and expects to major in Policy Analysis and Management. Alana is a member of the National Honor Society and received a National Merit Commendation. She is Co-Captain of the Academic Challenge Team at ArdsleyHigh School. She has served as Communications VP at United Synagogue Youth and has served as Op-Ed editor of the PANTHER VOICE, the school newspaper. She also served as managing editor of the newspaper. Alana has also been involved in community service activities:working for Cabrini Immigrant Services, English as a second language tutor.
