COMMUTER TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES INFORMATION EVENT
Release Date: January 26, 2007

Commuters! Want to save money? Reduce stress? Help the planet?

Representatives of Westchester County Smart Commute Program and MetroPool, Inc. will host an information table, and answer questions on alternatives to driving alone, including ridesharing, vanpooling, and public transportation on Tuesday, January 30 in the lobby of GreenburghTown Hallfrom 11:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m.

Sharing a ride with other commuters – either in a carpool, vanpool, bus or train – is known as ridesharing. The benefits of ridesharing are many, including: reduced commuting costs, reduced wear and tear on your vehicle, a less stressful commute, and helping your community by reducing both traffic congestion and the negative environmental impacts of driving. There is even a free online ridesharing network, NuRide, with which one can earn rewards for every trip shared.

Stop by and check out the new programs and tips available to help commuters learn about and take advantage of these alternatives!
