CUSTOMER SERVICE SUGGESTION TO MAKE SATELLITE LIBRARY MORE ACCESSIBLE
Release Date: January 29, 2007

During the past week a number of senior citizens and people with disabilities have spoken to me about parking at our new satellite library at GreenburghTown Hall. There is adequate parking for those who want to use the library. Unfortunately, some of the spots are in the back – creating problems for those residents who are elderly, disabled or parents with very small children.

My suggestion:

The Town should reserve parking spots at the parking lot closest to Town Hall for those who will be visiting the library or town hall for 30 minutes or less. We should increase the number of spots reserved for the disabled/elderly and consider doing what some shopping centers currently do ---have reserved spots for parents who bring young children with them to the library/town hall.

The Greenburgh Library has always been known for being first when it comes to customer service. Addressing the parking problem will help the library keep its great reputation.

CONTRACT UPDATE: I have been advised by the Town Attorney that we expect the prime contractors for the library contract to sign the contracts for the library construction by this coming Friday. Upon receiving these executive contracts the town attorney will review the documents and then will present the contracts to me for a signature.  Once that takes place the library construction work can actually start. If you’d like me to e mail you what I have, please e mail pfeiner@greenburghny.com.
