Town Board to discuss library construction delays today at 3:30 PM
Release Date: February 06, 2007

The Greenburgh Town Board will discuss delays re: the start of the library construction today at 3:30 PM when we meet at a work session. Last December the Town Board approved 5 contracts with contractors to start the library construction. A ceremonial ground breaking ceremony took place over a week ago. The temporary satellite libraries opened up over 2 weeks ago and the old library has been vacant for a few weeks. Yet -- construction has not begun because only 2 of the 5 contractors  who had been awarded bids have signed the contracts. At todays meeting we will get an explanation as to what is happening. It is also my hope that this meeting will send a message to the architect/TRITON/contractors that there are concerned about the delays. Hopefully, this meeting will expedite the start of the library construction.
