STOP & SHOP SUPERMARKET TO BE PROPOSED ON 119
Release Date: March 30, 2007

Almost 50 civic leaders and residents from the E Irvington/Tarrytown neighborhoods met with an applicant Thursday evening to discuss a proposal that will be presented to the Town Board sometime in the future to build a Stop & Shop supermarket on Route 119 (near the new Sheraton Hotel). This was a pre-application meeting. It's my policy to involve the community in the review process very early on -- even before applications are presented to the town by developers. We had an interesting exchange of ideas. The application requires a rezone  change. Rezoning property  is a  discretionary action. The next step in the process will be for the developer to present his request to members of the Town Board.
If you would like to be notified of future meetings regarding this proposal  to build a supermarket at this location please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.
