CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS LEAF BLOWER BAN/LAW ON JULY 9TH
Release Date: July 05, 2007

Earlier this year I wrote to the Conservation Advisory Council urging the council to consider a leaf blower ban. Scarsdaleand Yonkershave tough anti leaf blower laws. Should Greenburgh ban leaf blowers from June 1 to September 30th?  If the town does not ban leaf blowers should we limit the time and days that landscapers/residents are allowed to use it? Do you feel that leaf blowers are harmful to the environment- --NOISE and air pollution?.

The Conservation Advisory Council will be discussing the issue at their July 9th meeting at 7:30 PMat GreenburghTown Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

PAUL FEINER

PLEASE READ EXCERPTS OF THE FOLLOWING LETTER I RECEIVED FROM A RESIDENT HIGHLIGHTING REASONS FOR A BAN…

Dear Mr. Feiner,
I absolutely agree that the gas blowers should be banned, and the noise and smell from these blowers is
terrible.  I admit to having used them in the past, but am reverting
back to the old fashioned rake and broom, because the machines are so
awful for the environment and ruin the tranquility of my town on the
weekends (and weekdays too).
I completely support such a ban.  I know my husband does as well.
And our small children would appreciate the quiet when we play in the
yard or try to take naps.
Thanks for considering this!
