Townwide Alcohol and Drug Task Force
Release Date: January 15, 2003

GREENBURGH AND FIVE VILLAGE POLICE DEPARTMENTS FORM TOWN ALCOHOL AND DRUG TASK FORCE  - REPORT ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE THROUGH THE "PARTY BUSTER" HOTLINE 693-5666.

Officers from Greenburgh P.D. and the villages of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry,
Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington and Tarrytown police departments have
joined forces to form a task force to address the use of alcohol and other
illicit drugs by juveniles within the township.  Formation of the Task Force,
which became functional on November 19th, was suggested by Chief George
Longworth of the Village of Dobbs Ferry P.D. and will provide a mechanism for the
sharing of personnel, equipment and intelligence towards a common goal.
The utilization of the "Task Force" concept also provides officers from the
six participating agencies with authority to act in each of the
municipalities involved.  Thus far operations of the unit have resulted in forty-four
arrests for an assortment of offenses dealing with the possession and
sale of alcohol and other drugs.

You can assist the Task Force by reporting illicit alcohol and drug use
through the "Party Buster" hotline, 693-5666, that has been expanded for
town wide use.  Any information provided police will remain confidential
and your report can be made anonymously.
