Yonkers Civic Association invites Greenburgh neighbors to participate in review of proposal to have Target join Stew Leonard's, Costco and Home Depot at Austin Ave development. Meeting May 12 at St. Marks Church, 7 pm (corner of Truman Ave, Jane Street, Yonkers) We have invited representatives of TARGET to again address members of the association and spokespersons of other Yonkers neighborhood organizations about their proposed retail development on Stew Leonards Drive near Austin Avenue and Prior Place. Some questions were raised at our last meeting that we hope to be better addressed on May 12th. Several formidable concessions have been stated by the Morris Brothers Developers: ? They have rescinded their request for a Planned Multiuse Development (PMD) zone change. ? They expressed that they will instead seek a change in the language of the site “overlay” to allow retail. This will still give us the opportunity, through our City Council, to have a say in what restrictions we want for the site development. ? The scale of the building has been reduced and the site location has been shifted further away from present residential homes. After the initial presentation by TARGET, there will be a question and answer session until all questions are answered. The meeting time has been moved up to 7:00pm to give extra time for the Q&A. We just ask that you sign up for questions or comments (no longer than 2minutes) when you arrive at the meeting and ask only one question at a time. THANK YOU for the huge turnout at the March meeting and hope to see you all again on May 12th
