I frequently share job posts with people out of work –who are looking for job opportunities. Recently received the following job openings. If you would like to be added to the jobs club list and be advised of all job openings I learn of (government and non government) please e mail me and I will be sure to add your name.

I started the “job club” a number of years ago—and believe that these posts have helped at least a few hundred people land jobs. E mail me if you would like to be added to the list.

 

Some recent college graduates have advised me that they are still looking for work. Would like to organize a recent college graduate support and networking group. If you would like to help organize or be part of  such a committee please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.  Many recent college graduates still haven’t landed the job of their dreams –hopefully we can help them network and become great successes.

 

DOROT has posted some job openings below. They are also organizing a winter package delivery this Sunday, February 3 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.  Call Director Cippi Harte at 914 573 8906.  Sign up for orientation. Dorot is organizing warmth and companionship to older residents with Sunday visits. Orientations for new volunteers begin at 10:15 AM and 11 AM. This is an amazing group.

About DOROT Westchester:

DOROT Westchester has brought vital program to older adults 60 years and older for more than 14 years.  We are now poised for growth, with a goal of expanding the number of clients and volunteers we engage. 

 

Position Description Summary:  DOROT Westchester is poised for growth and is looking for a part time social worker to work with seniors as well as recruit for and manage volunteer opportunities and programs. Reducing isolation for older adults is a significant goal of our programs and services as are intergenerational programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

•             Perform in-home assessments and annual reassessments for a caseload of 24 clients

•             Recruit, screen, interview and orient volunteers for DOROT programs and services, supporting a 10% increase in volunteer participation

•             Increase awareness about DOROT throughout Westchester County

•             Liaise with Volunteer Services Department in Manhattan to coordinate  the annual Cemetery Visit program for Westchester, Holiday Package Delivery and other collaborative volunteer opportunities

•             Work on special projects and duties as assigned by Director

•             Attend meetings at DOROT and in the county as needed

 

Required Qualifications:

•             LMSW required

•             3- 5 years of professional social work experience 

•             SIFI certification preferred

•             Experience working with older adults a plus

•             Experience working with volunteers a plus

•             Strong interpersonal and clinical skills

•             Strong group facilitation and presentation skills

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•             Outstanding organizational skills

•             Ability to work independently and collaboratively

•             Proven record of program development and relationship building

•             Knowledge of aging and community resources in Westchester County a plus

•             Experience working with volunteers a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 2010

•             Must have a valid  New York State driver’s license and  the use of a car

•             Perform 4 in-home assessments and/or annual reassessments of per month supporting an annual caseload of approximately 50 clients

•             Provide information, referrals and advocacy to DOROT’s clients and the general community

•             Conduct outreach to recruit older adults and increase awareness of DOROT through Westchester County 

•             Work on special projects and duties as assigned by Director

•             Attend meetings at DOROT and in the county as needed

ACDS Westchester, a preschool for special education students, is seeking a fulltime bilingual Social Worker  

(LCSW) with early intervention and intake experience.
