DR. ANDREW NOVO TO MAKE PRESENTATION TO COMMUNITY FRIDAY NIGHT AT TOWN HALL, 7:30 pm
Greenburgh schools Success Stories:
Tired of reading negative stories about the Greenburgh Central school district? Many former students at Woodlands have become success stories. I'd like to profile them in the coming months. Among the former students: Matt Lauer--host of the TODAY SHOW.
YESTERDAY I MET A MOM OF A GRAD WHO ATTENDED HARVARD AND IS A SCHOOL PRINCIPAL...DAUGHTER A SURGEON...
Yesterday, when I was at the civic association meeting I talked with a woman whose son and daughter graduated Woodlands. Her son went to Harvard, her daughter went to Cornell. He is a principal of a school. Their daughter is a surgeon. A few weeks ago, when I was marching in a Memorial Day parade, I met another graduate of Woodlands who is currently an elected member of the White Plains School Board. There are hundreds of success stories.
GIVE SCHOOLS A CHANCE....
If we highlight the success stories more people will give the Greenburgh school district a chance. I'm convinced that if parents keep their children in the school system- that their kids will get a great education.

Dr. Andrew Novo grew up in Greenburgh. He attended the Greenburgh schools. He is now a Professor at National Defense University in Washington DC and a prominent expert in history and holds two graduate degrees from the University of Oxford –including Princeton (Magna Cum Laude).
He will be in Greenburgh on Friday June 13 -discussing his most recent book “Queen of Cities.” He will be giving a lecture at Town Hall at 7:30 PM. If you would like to nominate a graduate of the Greenburgh Central 7 School district for an upcoming Greenburgh success story profile – please e mail me the info at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. In the past- I have suggested to the Central Greenburgh School Board that they create a wall of honor---I think it would be reassuring for students, parents and those considering Greenburgh as a place to live to recognize that the school system has played a positive role in producing some great successes.
