SENIORS--ENJOY LUNCH AND GREAT COMPANY AT OUR NEW NUTRITION PROGRAM SITE
The Town of Greenburgh Department of Parks and Recreation Senior Nutrition Program recently announced that its Tarrytown Congregate Site Senior Citizen Lunch Program formerly located at the Tarrytown Knights of Columbus has moved across the street to The Neighborhood House at 43 Wildey Street, Tarrytown NY 10591.
The Greenburgh Nutrition Program prepares around 200 meals every weekday for homebound Greenburgh residents and residents that attend one of the three congregate senior sites. The town also sells an additional 100 meals daily to the Towns of Eastchester and Mt Pleasant to keep our costs down.
The program serves resident that are 60 years of age or older from the unincorporated area of Greenburgh and all six villages, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Hastings, Irvington and Tarrytown. There are no restrictions to receive a meal at the congregate sites but to receive a homebound meal the resident must have a medical condition. The suggested donation is $3.00 a meal at the congregate sites and $3.50 for home delivered meals and the donations are always confidential.
All meals are planned by a registered dietician. Each mal supplies on-third of the federal nutritional Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA). Home delivered meals are provided on a temporary or long-term basis.
