It got cold this morning. A reminder that sooner or later it will start snowing. Almost 25 years ago I started a snow angel program---our snow angels shovel the driveways and walkways of senior citizens and disabled residents who can't do the work themselves. Some of the residents we've helped over the years are very frail, living on fixed incomes. They don't need their entire driveway shoveled. They only want a path cleared so someone could bring them food or help them in the event of a medical emergency. Others want their entire driveway shoveled. Some can pay the snow angels. Others can't.
I'm looking for a volunteer or volunteers to help coordinate the snow angels program this winter. I will provide you names of volunteers who helped in past years and the names of those who sought and received assistance. In addition, will provide you with names of new angels who will offer to volunteer during the winter of 2015/16 and who seek help this coming season. The volunteer coordinator will help us prioritize the list --we need to help those who are most deserving first.
