Two new exciting new businesses in Hartsdale are opening! Stop by and thank them for making Central Ave and Hartsdale a more enjoyable place to shop at.

One River School of Art + Design has developed a proprietary method for teaching a wide variety of art and digital programs to students of all ages in a state of the art facility. Their process allows students to have more fun, make inspiring artwork, to develop new friendships and grow their art making skills along the way.

The schools large gallery space hosts exhibitions from emerging artists who are making work that they  believe to be current, relevant and potentially important. The exhibition series supports working artists and their mission to create more awareness for contemporary art.  They bring students on a creative journey that builds technical skills and challenges conceptual ideas.  They are community oriented and have flexible scheduling and make up classes for the busy student.  I will attend their ribbon cutting ceremony and invite you to join us!

NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE LOIS BRONZ CHILDREN’S CENTER ON MANHATTAN AVE

  The Lois Bronz Children’s Center provides affordable child care to parents with small children. They are located at 30 Manhattan Ave (right next to the Theodore Young Community Center in a town owned building) and their website is www.lbcc4kids.org.   the center was founded in 1966 and seeks to discover the genius in every child. They are proud of the smiles of those who they serve.

The Board of Directors of the Lois Bronz Children’s Center has appointed Dr. Marcia Lawrence as their new executive director. She is an experienced early and elementary school educator, inspiring leader and a strong administrator with excellent communication skills. She brings over 25 years of experience in this field. She works closely with staff, parents and other stakeholders and wants to create a child centered environment that will lay the foundation for the youngster’s future success. She has the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet the requirements of various funding streams. And appreciates the critical role that parents play in the lives of their children.
